Social Networks and Social Media – Tools in youth work
Objective of the project
- To increase the knowledge and skills of participants on how to use social media and social networks as a tool to reach young people, to motivate them, to promote their active citizenship and European citizenship and promoting youth employment;
- To provide the basic knowledge about use and implementation of non-formal education in social media and social networks;
- To share a three-year practical experience in using social media and social networks as a tool in youth work, while ensuring safety and protection of young people in the online environment;
- To generate knowledge on how to promote “Youth in Action” programme and the application of non-formal education in social networks, social media and other digital environment.
Methodology and tools
- Based on the principles of non-formal learning and new digital technologies;
- Special YOUTHPASS session;
- Time for reflection and feedback;
- Building a safe learning environment: group building, building the foundation for active participation.
Competencies that participants will gain
- New knowledge about social networks (concepts, story development, etc);
- New social media knowledge (concepts, story development, etc);
- New knowledge about the rules and possibilities of social networks and social media in youth work;
- Practical knowledge and skills to reach, motivate, activate and involve young people in activities through the use of social networks and social media;
- Practical knowledge to develop a comprehensive strategy for the use of social networks and social in youth work;
- Knowledge of the development of materials for use in social media and social networks to help youth – using video streams, making videos, posters, presentations and more.
