Job Shadowing

• YouthNet Cyprus, in collaboration with National Youth Service (SNJ) Luxembourg offered us the most unforgettable experience of our lives! We traveled to dreamy Luxembourg, accompanied by a job shadowing programme and workshops about video recording, capturing and editing. On the 2nd of February 2013, we began our amazing trip, with stops in Athens, Frankfurt and then on bus to Luxembourg, where our facilitators were waiting. Our impressions of the urban landscape and the city streets were beyond our expectations. We were toured around and loved everything!
• The main goal of our visit to Luxembourg was “job shadowing” professionals. At the start of the week, we becan following cameramen, among them many volunteers at SNJ. Excellent professionals, cheerful and polite. We learned how to use professional equipment (camera, mics) and then we took up on jobs such as finding clothes for actors and photo shooting, so we can get more acquainted with cinema production. After that, during the followwing days it was our turn to create a video, which we edited ourselves, on workstations with specialized programs for this purpose.
• An unforgettable trip! The people we met and the things we learned within just 10 days are countless. We went out, had fun, met people from all over the world, and the grand finale, a wonderful visit to the German Trier, an impressive city with imposing buildings and churches, architecturally based on Italian tradition. On the 10th of February, we started our return to Cyprus, sad, but also happy to have had such experiences.
