Summary of the project
The “Eco-Sports” exchange program was a combination between Ecology and Sports. The participants had the opportunity to enjoy the sun of Cyprus and were highly active through a variety of sports, which had an ecological outcome. In addition, participants of each country had the chance to try new sports and to present their own traditional sports to other participants. Meanwhile, participants were able to use their imagination and creativity in order to come up with something new by using waste materials that they gathered during their daily outdoor activities.

The duration of the project was 6 days, from 23.09.2013 – 29.09.2013 and the partners were from Romania, Italy, Poland, Estonia and Bulgaria. The number of participants was four participants and one leader from each country 30 participants in total.

The aim and objectives of the project was to raise young people’s ecological behaviour and awareness through outdoor activities, to promote a healthy lifestyle, to encourage young people to include sports and ecological thinking in their daily life, to raise awareness about differences and similarities in outdoor activities. Moreover, to develop awareness on concepts such as cooperation, teamwork, creativity, ecology and active participation, to give the opportunity to participants to think creatively in order to create something new using waste materials such as bottles, paper, newspaper, etc., to promote intercultural interaction and develops skills for life while using creative thinking.

Aims and objectives
To raise young people’s ecological behavior and awareness through outdoor activities, to promote a healthy lifestyle.
To encourage young people to include sports and ecological thinking in their daily life, to raise awareness about differences and similarities in outdoor activities, to develop awareness on concepts such as cooperation, teamwork, creativity, ecology and active participation.
To give the opportunity to participants to think creatively in order to create something new using waste materials such as bottles, paper, newspaper, etc.
To promote intercultural interaction and to develop skills for life while using creative thinking.
